Danny has turned six, and "Big School" is around the corner. It's a family tradition to go to Oak Primary. This feels daunting and scary and formal, and he is reluctant to leave the comforting, playful environment of Acorn Pre-Primary, his Kindergarten. But he soon learns that big school is lots of fun and that most learning still happens through play!
Danny was more than ready to tackle this new stage of education, after all.
"We, as adults, often become excited about new challenges and changes in the lives of our children. Occasionally we forget to put ourselves in their shoes and give them the opportunity and space to talk through all these changes. This book provides just that, an opportunity to read it, think about it, talk about it, process it and read it again and again. This is definitely one for any little person who is making the move to "Big School!"
Sharlene Groom, Head of Bishops Pre-primary School and moulder of many young people
"Talking about stressful events is an important part of preparing children for times when they are fearful, thereby strengthening resilience. Claudia's books are a fabulous way to prepare your little one for scary situations. Claudia is a wonderful communicator, and in this story, she gives you the words to broach the tough conversation of moving to a "Big School" with your little one."
Meg Faure, Occupational Therapist, Child-care Expert and Author
