Finding Oriel

One man. Two women. And a Dictaphone that might just start a war.

Dublin, 1986. James Morgan's life is going nowhere fast-until a dull errand north to Newry catapults him into the murky world of British-Irish espionage. After a run-in with the army, he ends up with a mysterious Dictaphone holding a secret so volatile it could collapse the Gardaí from within.

Now, both British and Irish operatives are after him, and James-a twenty-something insurance drone with zero instincts and terrible taste in women-is the least equipped man for the job.

Caught between Orla, the dazzling heartbreaker who never loved him back, and her cousin Tina, an incorruptible Garda uncovering a conspiracy that's hitting too close to home, James stumbles through courtroom chaos, coded threats, and Cold War paranoia.

Will the spooks catch him before he figures out whether Orla or Tina is his true love?

Finding Oriel is a razor-sharp romantic spy comedy brimming with Irish wit, nostalgia, and subversive social commentary. Adrian Chapman's debut is both a love letter to a bygone Ireland and a clever, character-driven thriller that finds humour and heart in the most unexpected places.
