Vangelis' mission was to explore sound through electronics and push back the bounds of musical knowledge.
This book, packed with rare and private photos, traces his career from his prodigal beginnings and formation of Aphrodite's Child and examines his work in television, including his contributions to Carl Sagan's Cosmos series and scores for Frederic Rossif. It details Vangelis' classical composition for ballet, theatre and orchestra and his platinum selling work with Jon & Vangelis. The biography spotlights his Oscar winning score for Chariots of Fire and other sound-tracks for Blade Runner, Bitter Moon, Antarctica, 1492 - Conquest of Paradise and Alexander. It reviews his live performances and work on over forty albums such as Heaven and Hell, Albedo 0.39, Direct, The City, Voices, Oceanic, Mythodea and his last album Juno to Jupiter.
Vangelis: The Unknown Man - Complete definitively presents Vangelis' work, life and influences and showcases his impressive breathtaking range of output and achievement as the maestro of electronic music.
