Anansi

A little spider with a big dream, and an even bigger heart.

Anansi wants to weave a web all the way to the sky and touch the stars. But on the way through the jungle, Anansi keeps stopping to help: guiding a lost bee home to her hive, mending a bird's broken nest, spinning a bridge for a hungry caterpillar, reaching a monkey's favorite fruit, pulling a splinter from a giraffe's neck, and lifting a porcupine out of a deep ravine. At last, a wise old turtle shares the secret of the stars.

Anansi: The Quest for the Stars is a gentle picture book about friendship, kindness, and helping others, written and hand-illustrated by a Colombian author and teacher. Every page is drawn by the author: no stock art, no AI.

Perfect for:

• Bedtime read-alouds for ages 4 to 8
• Preschool, kindergarten, and early-elementary classrooms
• Social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons on empathy and sharing
• Families who love animal stories and folktale-inspired heroes

Also available in Spanish: Anansi: En Busca de las Estrellas. Read both editions side by side in bilingual families and dual-language classrooms.

Give your child a story that ends where the brightest stars really are: in the friends we make along the way.
