And That's What Friends Are For

Welcome to the MacDonald Farm, where an unforgettable group of animal friends proves that family isn't always about where you come from-sometimes it's about the friends who stand beside you.

Bob the Polar Bear, Quacker the Duck, Sammy Snail, Ellie-Phant, and Katie Cow share a home, a friendship, and plenty of adventures. Each character is wonderfully different, and each has faced challenges of their own. Together, they learn that being different doesn't mean being left behind.

When Farmer MacDonald's granddaughter Beth arrives after a serious accident leaves her unable to walk, the five friends discover that compassion, encouragement, and friendship can help someone find hope again. Later, Quacker sets out on a quest to find his lost flock, only to discover something even more important about family. Sammy Snail faces another challenge when he wants to attend summer school and learns that everyone deserves an opportunity to learn and participate.

Through seasons of laughter, adventure, challenges, illness, recovery, school, family, and new beginnings, the friends continually remind one another of an important lesson: true friends stand beside you when life becomes difficult.

With gentle humor, memorable animal characters, and meaningful lessons about friendship, kindness, acceptance, perseverance, family, and faith, That's What Friends Are For is a heartwarming children's story for young readers and families to enjoy together.
