This book takes you to another place where the cultural norms are different than what you may be accustomed to. It is a story of emotional turmoil that originated from witnessing a hard life of another. Azusa and Tot are half sisters who are subjected to different treatment, so it looks. Azusa narrates the story as an observer of her sister's life, and the reader will get to know her share of heartache and emotional pain growing up in what can be called in dysfunctional family life. The main character, Azusa was bestowed with an ability to Floraport by a Metorite fall that occurred when she was a very young child. This is a symbolic possibility that tried to indicate humans can get aid and comfort by establishing a deeper connection with nature. Floraport is a term used to indicate being able to re-locate by blending with flowers in the environment. This means the story has an element of fantasy and the wonder of connecting with nature.
