Journey through the creatively crafted verses of this delightful, poetic children's book. A banana and the powerful cape of kindness, transform a young boy into a hero for kids. This imaginative book is based on a true story, at the end of WWII, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Billy is a sick baby boy, in a military family. First, he is battling for his life and, later, dealing with the "Bully Bunch" at school. Young readers are invited to see Billy overcome adversity and thrive, in a fun and entertaining way.
Banana Boy Billy received a Readers' Favorite®️ Five-Star Review, by Michelle Stanley, "This touching tale was written by Barbara Ann Brownlee, who shares fond memories of her big brother, Billy. Banana Boy Billy is beautifully written with lovely illustrations. It is an upbeat, inspiring poem that will appeal to children. This is a great book that can be used as teaching material to encourage children to be kind and compassionate to others."
Author Barbara Ann Brownlee infused heart, meaning and creativity into Banana Boy Billy, to entertain and empower young readers. Her children's book is perfect for military families, families with children who have serious illnesses, elementary school kids who have encountered bullies and young readers who enjoy stories in verse. Banana Boy Billy teaches the importance of bravery and conquering problems like a hero. It also shows children how love, hope and faith in a family can help them bounce back and persevere.
