Barking Up the Wrong Bakery, Christmas

Stephanie Fields has one goal this Christmas: make her grandmother's bakery, Sugar & Spice, the toast of Hollybrook by pulling off the town's annual Christmas Eve Cookie Tasting. But when a big-city stranger keeps showing up with his timid dachshund, Tessa, her plans start to unravel faster than she can say "sugar cookie."

Jack Carter never imagined he'd be spending his holidays in a small town, much less dog-sitting his sister's anxious pup. But when Tessa takes an unexpected liking to a certain bakery-and its charming owner-Jack finds himself drawn into Stephanie's world of flour-dusted countertops, twinkling lights, and Christmas cheer. Sparks fly, misunderstandings mount, and soon, it's not just Tessa who's warming up to Hollybrook's sweetest secret.

When Jack is offered a prestigious job back in New York, and Stephanie faces a crossroads of her own, will they realize that the recipe for love has been right in front of them all along? Barking Up the Wrong Bakery is a heartwarming holiday romance about second chances, family traditions, and finding a home where you least expect it.

EDITORIAL REVIEW

"Patti Petrone Miller's books hit different than your typical feel-good stories. Sure, Hallmark's got their formula down pat, but Miller brings something fresh to the table - authentic characters that actually feel like people you know, dealing with real-life stuff while still keeping things wonderfully uplifting.

I honestly get the same warm fuzzies reading her books as I do curling up with hot cocoa for a Hallmark marathon, but without all the predictable plot points we've seen a million times. She's nailed that sweet spot between heartwarming and genuine that's super hard to find these days.

If you're looking for stories that'll leave you smiling but don't make you roll your eyes at how perfect everything is, Miller's your girl. She's got that special touch that makes you feel like you're hanging out with friends rather than just reading about characters. Move over, Hallmark - "there's a new queen of wholesome in town!"
