The two moves that trip everyone up

The forgotten second carry. In 268 + 157 the ones column carries and the tens column carries. Most mistakes are simply forgetting the second one. Mission 2 drills it until it is automatic.

Borrowing across a zero. In 400 - 236 there are no tens to borrow from, so you have to go next door twice. Mission 3 is about nothing else.
