Chromophobic Palette

Chromophobic Palette is a four-part collection of poems by Daniela Gutierrez that traces a movement from emotional restraint toward visibility, permission, and renewed color.

In Closed Buds, the speaker names fear, insecurity, rejection, careful routines, and the habit of appearing composed before feeling safe. Locked Gardens turns inward through silence, rumor, frustration, unsolved pain, spiraling thought, and obsessive preoccupation. Lunar Witness moves through memory, sadness, loneliness, isolation, depression, and apathy beneath recurring moonlit imagery. In Color Returns, the collection begins to open. Darkness gives way to silver moon, bright dawn, light, warmth, affection, accountable dreams, hope, and technicolor words. Flowers, insects, gardens, weather, mirrors, shadows, and changing colors become a visual language for inner experience. Across the collection, the poems consider self-censorship, emotional safety, fear of being seen, the discipline of restraint, and the gradual decision to let voice and feeling become visible.
