Faith is dead! Or so it seems as a ragtag group of freedom fighters decides to give up the fight. For five thousand years, the people of the icy world of Staranana have endured a horrible darkness.

An immortal tyrant, Emperor Seth, son of Iren, rules the planet with cruelty and fear, crushing every trace of hope beneath his relentless will. Long ago, the people of Staranana trusted in the promises of the Hidden King - the one true God - who foretold the coming of a deliverer known as the Blood of the Land. Through prophecy and promise, the Hidden King assured His people that freedom would come. However, after millennia of waiting, the faith of Staranana is all but gone.

The rebellion is collapsing, families are broken, and many now believe the Hidden King has abandoned Staranana to its doom! Yet, in the midst of this despair, a single family refuses to surrender hope. Known as the Moonbeams, they choose obedience over escape and faith over fear, believing that the Hidden King still reigns - even when He seems silent.

When long-forsaken prophecies begin to stir, the Moonbeams embark on a perilous journey to seek the Blood of the Land and bring about Seth's downfall. Their quest draws them into a world of danger, betrayal, and sacrifice, placing them directly in the path of the Emperor's murderous power. Along the way, they will witness both the cost of evil and the quiet, unmistakable movement of the Hidden King at work.

As ancient promises unfold and the fate of Staranana hangs in the balance, one question echoes across its icy wastelands: Does the Hidden King still care about Staranana?

Originally released in 2006, Staranana returns in this 20th Anniversary Edition as the first book in the Chronicles of the Imagination series- an epic Christian-fantasy adventure for middle school and high school-aged readers that explores themes of friendship, courage, redemption, and the power of trusting God when all hope seems lost.
