A young girl named Mary, whose family has a cherished Halloween tradition of carving jack-o'-lanterns, is devastated when a busy Halloween night prevents them from carving their pumpkin. The forgotten pumpkin eventually falls from their terrace and shatters, but its seeds secretly take root.
