Dragon Squire

The men hunting Perrin's dragon have started asking questions in his father's yard.

After more than two years on the road, Perrin knows how to hide Haku's tracks, keep a campfire small, and leave a town before anyone learns his name. He has had less practice at telling his mother why he cannot come home.

Then a letter arrives. Strangers have been to Cameron. Twice.

Three hunting parties are closing in. A wealthy lord wants a dragon to own. A company of hired swords has a contract to finish. The Wardens of the Ash believe Haku should never have survived at all. With a royal charter behind the hunt, anyone who shelters him risks the Crown's anger.

Perrin returns to a family that has learned to manage without him and a town with no walls to hide behind. Sir Charles can count the riders and prepare a road out. Neither of them can make the danger disappear. Fighting could cost Cameron everything. Running could leave Perrin's family to answer for him. Every clever plan carries a price someone else may have to pay.

And Haku, who has trusted him through it all, has a future of his own to consider.

The Last Flight is the fifth and final Dragon Squire novel, bringing Perrin, Sir Charles, and Haku's journey to its conclusion with the wry humor and hard choices that have shaped their friendship.
