[An age based home. Changes in geriatric care as a challenge observed by the Deaconesses Home in Frankfurt, Germany]§The demographic change brings with it the question as to how to provide for older people, who are not able to be looked after by their families. How do the economical, political and institutional antagonists influence each other? How do their very different perspectives of the needs work together and how can they be integrated for the well being of the elderly?§The study shows the historical development of care as from 1870-2012 and includes precise information and interviews of the concepts of the Deaconesses Home in Frankfurt. Concepts, which encourage an interdepartmental cooperation, social and technical innovations and a view of other countries and their aspects of social welfare. All in all these describe developments that could lead to a culture, which is kinder and more considerate for the elderly in need of care.
