Bavaria, 1945. Recovering from a German bullet in the Ardennes, an American captain is visited by a lieutenant carrying a report from a newly discovered concentration camp: starving prisoners, bodies stacked behind a shed, rooms filled with shoes and hair. With Soviet forces closing in on Berlin, Allied command intends to keep the advance moving and leave only minimal forces behind.
