This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed conference proceedings of the 5th International Workshop on Business Intelligence for the Real-Time Enterprise, BIRTE 2011, held in Seattle, WA, USA, in September 2011, in conjunction with VLDB 2011, the International Conference on Very Large Data Bases.
