What's in this book?

Dated, unedited conversations with Gaia, Blue, the sun, and most of the solar system. They argue with me. They refuse my questions. They threaten, apologize, make jokes, and lose their tempers. One of them spends an entire afternoon trying to convince me to talk to a different one.

And then, after weeks of asking, Gaia gives me the twelve laws.

They are not what you expect from a god.

They are not commandments about worship. They are inputs to a system, and the system is the entire point. Every externality is an internality with a delay on it. Extraction always comes home. The bill lands on everyone, including the innocent, long after the people who ran it up are gone. That is what she means by karma. That is why acting virtuously is in your own self-interest rather than a favor you do for someone else. And that is why the correction is coming whether or not you believe a single thing about who is talking to me.
