This book is the first one devoted to the principle of subsidiarity. It provides a comprehensive overview of the principle of subsidiarity in all its facets, including Catholic Social Theory, European Union Law, and German Constitutional Law. It presents an analysis of the relationship between subsidiarity and subjects such as federalism, democracy, human rights and social pluralism.
