You may be content with your routine for now, but eventually, you're going to want your relationship to progress. That probably means moving in together and making plans for your future. If he's not willing to do those things, it might be because he wants to keep you at arm's length. That was the exact matter for Serenity, but things soon changed, and she and Hakeem started to act on old feelings. With Rika lying about being pregnant by Hakeem, she basically moved right out of the way for Serenity to steal his heart. Still, in the midst of all of that, Serenity was seeing someone named Sacar, the same person that wanted to take Hakeem's drug empire down and rebuild his own.

When things seem to be going well, circumstances present themselves as lies and deceit. Serenity has to prove that she doesn't know Sacar was the same man coming after Hakeem. However, Rika wants to prove that Hakeem is still and will always be her man. Lies will be told. The truth will be spoken, and friendships will be broken. Serenity has no idea how she will get things back to the way they should be but fixing Hakeem's broken heart is the least of her worries. Someone other than Rika has plans to destroy her life and remove memories of Hakeem altogether.

Hakeem's heart was shattered into pieces when he found out Serenity was involved with his enemy, an enemy he recently discovered wanted his empire. Now, there is no turning back. Killa Keem is back and here to stay. Although he wants to leave that part of his life concealed, there is no way he can.

When Sacar called out Naomi's name as if he knew her personally, it was then that Hakeem knew Serenity wasn't who she seemed to be. What you do and what you do not do is according to circumstances around you, and circumstances were the only reason Hakeem didn't kill Sacar when he approached him. If it wasn't for Naomi, he would have ended his life. Dealing with jealousy, hatred, and lies, Hakeem has to watch his back from his enemy. Sacar isn't the only one out to get Hakeem, and someone else has hatred and wants him dead. Will love come to Hakeem, or nothing more than a convenient death?
