Kindred Hearts

Seventeen-year-old Emily Schaffer has not had an easy life. A runaway from an abusive and neglectful home, a sexual assault from a career criminal, and an attempted assault by some high school boys has left her an angry, fearful young lady. After the last attack, she attempted to take her own life. Unsuccessful, she was prescribed intensive therapy to get through her past before the court would deem her healthy. Pastor Ryan is her counselor, and she has been making progress. But it's slow and deeply painful.

After several months away, Brent Thomas, the instigator of Emily's attack, returns, determined to set things right. But Emily wants nothing to do with him. Fear, anger, and unforgiveness ensnare her. Brent doesn't wish to hurt her further and turns to Pastor Ryan for help.
