Leviticus

Leviticus: Living in the Presence of a Holy God follows the central question raised by the end of Exodus: How can sinful and unclean people live in the presence of a holy God? Rather than treating Leviticus as a disconnected collection of sacrifices, purity laws, priestly regulations, festivals, and obscure commands, this study follows the book as a unified theological argument. Beginning with Yahweh dwelling among His redeemed people, it explores sacrifice, priesthood, purity, atonement, holiness, sacred time, land, covenant, and everyday life within Israel. The study first allows Leviticus to speak within its own ancient Israelite setting before tracing its themes through the larger biblical story and their fulfillment in Christ. In doing so, Leviticus: Living in the Presence of a Holy God shows that one of Scripture's most neglected books is neither strange nor irrelevant, but essential for understanding God's holiness, humanity's uncleanness, atonement, worship, and what it means for a redeemed people to live in the presence of God.
