NATURE and I is an engaging and inspiring introduction to the natural world, created especially for young explorers. More than a book about plants, animals, and landscapes, it is an invitation for children to step outside, slow down, observe, wonder, explore, and develop a lasting love and respect for nature.
Through six exciting chapters, young readers discover what nature is and how they are connected to it. They explore the world of plants, meet different kinds of animals, travel through forests, mountains, rivers, oceans, deserts, and cities, and learn how to use their five senses to experience the world around them.
The book encourages children to become curious observers. They learn how to listen to birds and insects, watch clouds, study leaves and footprints, look at the stars, draw and photograph what they discover, and keep their own nature journals. Along the way, they are encouraged to ask questions, make observations, conduct simple experiments, and explore without disturbing the living things they encounter.
The final chapter turns learning into adventure with 20 Nature Challenges, 10 Easy Experiments, and a First Promise to Nature, giving children opportunities to put their knowledge into practice.
