Savage Monsters

The Isle worships the lunar goddess within me, a crest-born symbol of our bloodlines and laurel to the Quiet Fang's three heirs. They must connect with Luna to establish dominion over Dreadmark and claim the Blood Seat. I pray every morning my other half continues to reject them, finding more joy in speaking with living paintings in solitude between bouts of vicious nightmares.

Yet the succession race pales in the face of monstrous wyverns, twisted with the Veyrspawn shadows that prowl across the celestial body below the floating Isles. Even with the Cold Claw's aid in defeating one, the rendborne are losing ground, and we have no defense against an enemy that drops death from the heavens.

Survival demands I become more than a prize. Before confronting the brothers' growing, hazardous ambitions, I have to determine the source of these monsters and who is creating them. But their essence threatens my sanity. The disturbing dreams invade my reality. And I'm tormented by a past I have no recollection of. There is a connection here between danger and Luna's true identity. What is her origin, who held the power to punish her, and why did she relinquish her soul to create such savage monsters?
