What if some of the things you've always been told the Bible says... aren't quite what the Bible says?

For many believers, certain ideas seem settled before we ever think to examine them for ourselves. The Law was for the Jews. Jesus fulfilled it so we don't have to. Paul taught that believers are no longer under it. The Sabbath changed. The food laws disappeared. The biblical feasts belonged to the Old Covenant. Grace replaced law.

But what happens when we go back and read those passages again?

Tent Peg Theology is a collection of thirty-six conversational essays born from that question. With an open Bible and a willingness to challenge familiar assumptions, Yael explores some of the most common questions Christians encounter when they begin looking more closely at Torah, grace, obedience, and what it means to follow Yeshua.

What is Torah, really? Did Yeshua abolish it? What did Paul mean by "works of the law"? What was actually nailed to the cross? Did Peter's vision declare all animals food? What was happening in Acts 15? What about Romans 14, the New Covenant, the famous 613 commandments, Sabbath, the biblical feasts, and the "law of Messiah"?

Rather than treating isolated verses as the final word, Tent Peg Theology invites readers to slow down, examine context, follow quotations back into the Hebrew Scriptures, compare passages, consider important Hebrew and Greek words, and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture.

This is not a book about becoming Jewish, earning salvation, or exchanging one religious checklist for another. Nor is it an attempt to tell you what you must believe. It is an invitation to examine some of the tent pegs holding our theology in place and ask a simple question:

Are they actually anchored in Scripture?

You don't have to agree with every conclusion in this book. In fact, don't take Yael's word for any of it. Bring your questions. Bring your objections. Bring your coffee. Most importantly, bring your Bible.

Read the verse before the verse. Read the one after it. Follow the cross-references. Test what you've been taught. Test what you read here. And be willing to ask what the text might say if no one had ever told you what it was supposed to mean.

Perhaps rediscovering the ancient paths isn't about going backward at all.

Perhaps it's about learning to walk more closely with the Rabbi we said we wanted to follow.

The fire is lit. Pull up a log.

Let's pull some tent pegs.
