When the unmanned ARES VI mission intercepts an impossible signal from beneath the Martian surface, NASA quietly buries the incident.

Years later, humanity's first permanent mission to Mars launches under the command of Commander Elias Carter. Officially, the Odyssey mission has one objective: establish the first human outpost on the Red Planet.

Unofficially, one member of the crew has been sent to investigate a mystery that has haunted NASA for years.

Astrophysicist Dr. Noah Chen believes the strange transmission was nothing more than an unexplained anomaly.
