The Hidden Occupation
Book Two in the "Earth in Danger" series
When the world changes - there are always those who profit, and always those who bow down.
The director of the CIA didn't know what hit him.
One day he was the most important man in the intelligence world - head of the largest spy agency in history. The next day, he sat across from his psychologist and told him, eyes glowing, that he had met a real angel. That he had kissed the angel's shoes. That it had been the greatest honor of his life.
The psychologist wrote in his notepad: "Grandiose hallucinations. External influence? Check for drug use."

The President of the United States, James William Henderson III, stood before the cameras in the Oval Office. A serious expression, rehearsed for two hours in front of the mirror.
"American intelligence has discovered," he declared, "that Russia and China are planning to take over Greenland. Therefore, as of today - Greenland is under American sovereignty."
Silence in the press room. Then a storm.
In Copenhagen, the Prime Minister of Denmark spilled coffee on his pants and didn't notice. "They're stealing a country that was ours for 600 years!"
In Paris, in London, in Ottawa - heads of government declared full support for the United States. They smiled thin smiles. None of them noticed that something tiny was lodged in the back of their necks.
The UN condemned. The world boiled. No one did a thing.

Colonel Richard "Iron" McGregor sat in the command tent in Nuuk and read the report. Read it again. And again.
"Lieutenant Barnes. Explain to me how we have 138 casualties. Not a single shot was fired here."
"If you look at the breakdown, sir-"
"I looked at the breakdown! Two soldiers died of cold! How does an American soldier die of cold?!"
"They... tried to urinate outside, sir. At three in the morning. In minus forty."
"And what, they couldn't wait until morning?!"
"Apparently not, sir. They were on guard duty."
McGregor rubbed his face. "22 fractures. 92 frostbite cases. 12 lost fingers. 12 vehicles destroyed. Without anyone firing at us."
"I wouldn't rush to report to the Pentagon, sir. There's a new report from this morning. Another 8 fractures, 21 frostbite cases, and 3 vehicles."
McGregor sank into his chair. "Issue an order. No urinating outside."
He didn't know that the idea for this invasion, wasn't the Pentagon's idea at all.

Because while the director of the CIA kneels before an "angel," and the President of the United States declares war on the coldest island in the world, and an American colonel counts soldiers who froze to death mid-urination - there's one physics professor in Brooklyn who knows what's really going on.
He knows who the "angel" is. He knows who sent the soldiers to Greenland. And he has a team of four people in a safehouse in Pennsylvania, the FBI is hunting him, and an alien nanoprinter he stole from the park.
Because if he doesn't do something - no one else will.
The sequel to the bestseller "100 Years Until the End of the World" - sci-fi, espionage, and satire.
