The Hollow Holds

TBI Special Agent Jonah Rains comes home to a hollow that remembers every woman who was told to be quiet.

When Jonah is called to Laurel Fork County, Tennessee, the body beneath Red Dog Trestle should be the worst thing waiting for him. It is not. The deer are watching. The mouth painted on the dead man is the wrong shade of blue. And the one woman everyone warned him about may be the only person telling the truth.

Maeve McGaha is what the county calls a witch. She calls it rootwork, prayer, memory, and knowing when the land has had enough. For years, the church called her dangerous. Now a young woman named Alma Ritchie has survived something no one wants to name, a pastor with too much power is tightening his grip, and Jonah is forced to build a case with mortal evidence while the hollow answers in ways no courtroom can hold.

As old church secrets surface and the woods begin to move like a witness, Jonah must decide what kind of law he serves: the one written in warrants and statements, or the older one that lives in blood, salt, blue paint, and women who finally say stop.

Dark, sensual, and atmospheric, The Hollow Holds is Book 1 in an adult Appalachian gothic crime thriller series blending folk horror, paranormal suspense, slow-burn romance, faith, power, desire, and the cost of being believed.
