Years later, Ana has built a life around carrying meaning carefully between people and institutions. On Lesvos in 2015, amid exhausted workers, displaced families, and records that cannot hold every truth, she encounters a name from her past and a family whose future may turn on whether a correction survives the next handoff.

Every translation changes what becomes possible. Every record decides what it can omit. Somewhere beyond ordinary time, Ana must determine whether humanity's repeated failures are evidence of a fate it cannot escape-or a faith it has refused to practice.
