The Quest for Meaning

The Quest for Meaning sets out to examine the meaning and purpose of life - and humanity's role within it - beginning with the mystery of individual self-awareness: the mind which does the actual exploring. It supports Socrates's concept that the unexamined life is not worth living.

The most significant and interactive parts of our environment are other human beings. There are some very close and special individuals who travel through life beside us. There are wider groups, communities and nations to which we belong and which have powerful effects on our lives. They are among the most vital signposts in our quest for meaning.

The Quest for Meaning goes on to explore the true nature of reality itself. Dreams can be so realistic that the worst nightmares seem like alternative realities into which we might fall. Avant-garde philosophers have suggested that there is no external environment: that everything we think is around us is only a projection from our own creative minds.
