The sixties was a decade of fundamental change and transformation in Africa and the United States.
The author, who was part of a generation that reached maturity in the sixties and seventies looks back, some times with nostalgia, at a decade that shaped his life but with an objective appraisal of the events that unfolded on both sides of the Atlantic and which were some of the most transformative in the history of the twentieth century. Their impact was global in many fundamental respects and helped determine the destiny of a large part of mankind.
He also writes from personal experience. Born in what was then Tanganyika, now Tanzania, he first went to the United States at a young age when he was in twenties and lived there most of his life before going back to his home country where he continues to write.
He has written many books about Africa and the United States for members of the general public and academic community and this work is intended for both.
