There She Is

There She Is

She was always there.

Now she's finally seeing her.

A memoir of becoming,

unclearing, and choosing

my Own light

What happens to you once you experience a devastating loss? Who are you, then?

As Jill's roles abruptly shift from wife and caretaker to widow, she begins to discover that going on can mean more than simply surviving. She learns to make peace with who she was and the life she knew, while making precious room for the woman she is becoming-and the life still waiting to be lived.

There She Is is an intimate, unflinching story of a marriage moving toward an ending neither spouse chose-and the unexpected journey that begins when that life is gone.

Told through the final journal entries of a dying husband, written to the wife and three sons he is about to leave behind, and woven with his wife's own reflections, this memoir follows a family through the final months of a life, a marriage, and the world they knew.

In the quiet that follows, an echo from her late husband lingers:

"You have the harder part, as you will have to go on."

But what is that exactly?

There She Is is a story of grief, motherhood, identity, and the invitation to step into courage to shed an old story that no longer serves you. It is a calling to discover that a good life-and even a great one-is still possible, even in the wake of loss.

But first, you must rise from the ashes of the past and step into the light-the light of your very own diamond-and recognize that

She was there all along.
