Voices 2026: The Lives Behind the Accusation is a collection of personal stories, poetry and artwork from people affected by false allegations, wrongful convictions, family breakdown, stigma and the long shadow of the criminal justice system.
The pieces in this book have been contributed by members and supporters connected with Accused.Me.UK, FACT, The Falsely Accused Database and The CJS Hub C.I.C. Some write as the accused. Some write as partners, parents, children or friends. Some write from grief. Some from anger. Some from survival.
Together, these voices show the human cost behind an accusation: the knock at the door, the loss of family life, the fear, the shame, the isolation, the damage to mental health, and the struggle to keep going when everything familiar has changed.
This book is not intended as legal advice, nor as a political statement. It is a record of lived experience, offered so that those going through similar circumstances know they are not alone, and so that others may better understand the lives behind the accusation.
