What DIVOC

This book is not about COVID! It's about US as a PEOPLE! How do we "really" treat one another and cope during a time of crisis? The good, the bad & the ugly! It's a snapshot of when our world was thrown for a loop. Writing this book served as an oasis for my mind to process and deliver what I saw, felt, and imagined during the beginning of it all... it helped me tremendously keep a positive frame of mind, while the world went wacky.

Jake and Kate's "first date" is the best they ever had. Have they found their soulmate? The problem is a pandemic, named COVID-19 breaks out the next day, and their world is in lockdown. Can they make this burgeoning relationship work... what could go wrong... love conquers all... right? They'll have to persevere through: family crisis, work stresses, financial difficulties, depression, relationship conflicts, caring for seniors, mental health challenges, and even death happening all around them - or that first date, will be one and done.

A fictional story based during a time none of us had ever experienced before. Living, breathing and hopefully surviving a pandemic. The best and worst of us surface. A showcase of characters co-existing entangled within their beliefs. Whether they are an uber-careful individual, a naysaying conspiracy theorist, a selfish self-indulged narcissist, or merely a confused person simply trying to keep their loved ones alive - the collectivity of their actions or in-actions produces varying results and consequences. A confused and anxious population is forced to make tough choices between "what's best" for everyone and when "do our own priorities" take over. An uncertain pandemic end-date fuels fears as it tugs and pulls on our nerves eventually creating eruptions. The question is: "what will society look like on the other side of COVID-19 and how will history look back on us all?" A defining moment in human evolution... do we move forward or backward? 'What DIVOC,' challenges you to reflect on, 'what the heck just happened to us all' and mull over the life choices we all had to make.
